Abstract
Combining two complementary iterative versions of median filter extend ed to an even (2 x 2) pixel set, results in efficient edge-preserving removal of impulsive image noise. Enhance spike suppression capability for heavy noise, MAE and visual comparisons show improvements over me dian filter.
