VOLUME SURFACE FORMULATION FOR ANALYZING SCATTERING FROM COATED PERIODIC STRIPS

A surface/surface formulation was used in [1] to analyze the scatterin g from periodic planar coated strips. This paper is an extension of [1 ] where a combined volume/surface formulation has been used to solve t he same problem. This formulation can be applied to problems which inv olve an inhomogeneous dielectric medium or/and a thick dielectric whic h requires the inclusion of the edge currents which were neglected in [1] as a simplification. Results obtained using the volume/surface for mulation have been compared with the results published in [1] which we re obtained using a surface/surface formulation.
