Abstract
The reaction between 1,2-dihydroxyanthraquinone-3-sulphonic acid and c hlorine dioxide, in phosphate buffer medium, was studied spectrophotom etrically and electrochemically. An electroanalyticall method is propo sed for the determination of traces of CIO2 with a detection limit of 2 mu g l(-)1. The stoichiometry of the reaction, the effects of variou s operational parameters and the influence of foreign ions are reporte d.
