PSYCHOTHERAPY IN RETROSPECT - ACCOUNTS OF EXPERIENCES IN PSYCHOTHERAPY OBTAINED FROM 5 FORMER SCHIZOPHRENIC-PATIENTS

In a Swedish case-finding study five former schizophrenic patients and their therapist were interviewed. Excerpts from the interviews with t he patients describe how they perceived the personal style and psychot herapeutic technique of the therapist. Her rather confrontative, seemi ngly nonsupportive way of working is discussed in terms of possible ge nder differences with regard to therapeutic needs.
