Abstract
A Fountain House is a club house and a rehabilitation programme for me ntally disabled persons. Established on a voluntary basis, it function s as a social supplement to the psychiatric institutions. The Fountain House in Copenhagen has existed for 6 years and was evaluated by the authors as to results and processes during a 3 1/2-year period. One of the aims of the rehabilitation programme is to obtain employment for the members, but the project was not especially successful in that res pect. On the other hand, the project succeeded in engaging the members in teaching and educational activities to a much greater extent than expected.
