Abstract
Finite-element analysis was carried out for a compact mixed mode (CMM) fracture specimen designed for fracture toughness testing of adhesive bonded joints. Stress intensity factors were computed for the homogen eous substrate material and the corresponding adhesive-bonded joint. U sing the finite-element result, a semi-empirical correction factor is applied to the CMM adhesive-bonded joint specimens.
