Abstract
Theoretical and experimental calculations of transmission dose build-u p factor for photons of two energies (1.43 and 2.75 MeV), for multiple layer shields, applying two different methods, namely the Broder and Bowman-Trubey formulas, have been performed. For these calculations th e experimental and theoretical data, for two energies (1.43 and 2.75 M eV) and for single-layer shield (Bakos et al., 1993), is used. Transmi ssion dose build up factors obtained in the present study have been co mpared with those calculated by other methods and empirical formulas. This report is a continuation of previous work by Bakos.
