This paper describes a flow-through optic cryostat to make magneto-opt
ic measurements of transparent samples at temperatures from 4.2 to 300
-degrees-K. The apparatus is 1320 mm high, its overall diameter is 25
mm, the working chamber is 10 x 20 x 15 mm, its weight is 300 g. The m
aximum dimensions of a sample are 6 mm long and 9mm in diameter. The c
ryostat consumes 0.3 liter of liquid helium to cool a sample from room
to helium temperature, the minimum cooling time is approximately 10 m
in.
