Abstract
The template reactions of 3-arylhydrazones of 2,3,4-pentanetrione and 2-arylhydrazones of 1-phenyl-1,2,3-butanetrione with 1,2-diaminoethane in the presence of Ni(II) or Cu(II) ions have been studied. The new o btained products were characterized by the elemental analyses, IR, H-1 NMR and MS spectra. The structure shows that the metal ion occupies t he coordination N4 site rather than of N2O2.
