Abstract
Optical absorption, IR, Raman and luminescence spectra of Cr(III) in t he natural diopside crystal were reported. The crystal field parameter s (D(q) = 1525 cm-1, B = 736 cm-1) were determined. The IR and Raman s pectra analysis was performed. The intensive broad band luminescence ( centered at 12 700 cm-1) was observed at the room temperature. The opt ical properties of Cr-diopside were compared with the Cr3+ doped silic ate glass.
