Abstract
Asymmetrically modified S,O-(alkoxysilacyclobutyl) ketene acetals deri ved from methanethiol esters reacted with aromatic aldehydes at low te mperature to afford, after desilylation, the corresponding beta-hydrox y thiol ester aldolates in high enantiomeric excess (91-94% ee).
