Abstract
In reaction with azides, substituted with electron-withdrawing groups, 2-methyleneazetidines underwent [3 + 2]-cycloaddition to, form interm ediate triazolines. These intermediates spontaneously rearrange into f our-membered cyclic amidines with concomitant loss of diazomethane.
