A patient with rheumatoid arthritis developed ulcerated nodules predom
inantly on his legs. Skin biopsy and culture demonstrated rheumatoid v
asculitis and infection with Mycobacterium haemophilum. Improvement wa
s not seen until clarithromycin was added to his treatment regimen.
