Abstract
Four Chilean populations of Drosophila subobscura from different latit udinal origins, do not show sexual isolation, nor differences in matin g speed. The data could be interpreted as a result of stabilizing sele ction acting to keep a high degree of geographic stability on mate rec ognition systems in this species.
