A 3-week-old kitten was presented for ophthalmic problems, presumed to
be a unilateral entropion, and nutritional support. The kitten thrive
d nutritionally; however, the ophthalmic problem did not resolve. Due
to an inability to be box trained, blindness, and increasing episodes
of rage, the kitten was euthanized at 4 months of age. Examination of
the brain revealed hydranencephaly, profound cerebrocortical hypoplasi
a, and unilateral microphthalmia.
