Abstract
New quarter pixel, block based, phase shifting filters are presented f or drift reduction in a frequency scalable video coding architecture. Simulation results show that the performance of the new filters is sig nificantly better than that of bilinear filters. Their performance app roaches that of the 'minimum drift' solution with a reduced implementa tion complexity.
