Abstract
We investigate the pi-sigma meson exchange corrections to the solar p + p --> d + e+ + nu fusion rate. This correction enhances the pp S-fac tor by about 1.5%. Various standard proton-proton and deuteron wave fu nctions are used for the numerical evaluation of the effect.
