The amplification of a space-charge wave in a semiconductor induced by
the beam instability is considered. The electron beam is regarded as
being injected out of the quantum well by means of resonant tunneling.
The plasma-beam interaction is treated in terms of the hydrodynamic e
quations of a two-component liquid and the Poisson equation. The incre
ment of SCW is calculated and the dependence of the increment on the d
ifferent parameters such as temperature, carrier concentration, spacin
g of grating, and so on is also considered.
