Abstract
Studies of the reactivity of the solid superacid (SG)n-AlCl2 is extend ed to cracking of a variety of polymers. The low molecular weight prod ucts formed are those expected from carbonium ion intermediates. Activ ity is increased by using hydrogen or hydrochloric acid in the feed.
