Abstract
182 patients assessed their condition after automated percutaneous lum bar discectomy (APLD). The analysis of descriptive data parametry prov ides new guidelines for the indication of this minimal-invasive proced ure: - persistant leg pain despite conservative treatment - lumbar dis e prolapse in one segment - minimal monological pathology This ideal c onstellation implies a restriction of the common guidelines. Under was e premises 50% of the patients will be satisfied. So the indication fo r APLD seems to be justified under more unfavorable patient profiles i f the natural course of sciatica was poor.
