Abstract
In the frame of the JOULE 1 R&D programme of the Commission of the Eur opean Communities this project has been carried out on enhanced evapor ation heat transfer surfaces. The main goal of the project was to deve lop and investigate enhanced evaporation heat transfer surfaces for in dustrial compact two-phase heat exchangers. Planar and tubular surface s have been investigated by IKE (structured planar and tubular surface s), GRETh (covered planar surfaces) and NEL (covered tubular surfaces) .
