This review is devoted to the coordination polymerization of alkenes.
The emphasis is placed on some distinctive features of the kinetics of
alkene polymerization in the presence of metal complexes, on the ster
eoregulation mechanism in catalytic systems of different types, and on
the nature of stereospecific centers. Problems of the kinetic and ste
reoregulation nonuniformity of active centers and the relationships be
tween the symmetry of the catalytic complex and the stereoregulation m
echanism are discussed.
