Abstract
The oxidative coupling of methane is studied on 10% PbO/aerosil, ZnO, 10% Na2O/ZnO, and Na2O/MgO catalysts. It is shown that pulse introduct ion of small (0.1%) amounts of H2O2 vapor facilitates the process of m ethane transformation: the methane conversion, the C2 selectivity, and the C2H4/C2H6 ratio increase. No appreciable deposition of condensati on products reducing the catalytic activity occurs in the system in th e presence of H2O2.
