Abstract
Total oxidation of methane by oxygen on Co/ZSM-5 is studied. The Co/ZS M-5 zeolite containing isolated cobalt cations demonstrates a high act ivity in this reaction. At least two types of cobalt cations, differin g in their activity, are stabilized by the zeolitic matrix. The specif ic activity of cobalt cations stabilized in the ZSM-5 matrix exceeds t he activity of the cations supported on SiO2 by a factor of ten.
