A new model of vibration kinetics is developed for CO-containing gas m
ixtures. The model is based on using the rate constants of multiphoton
VV exchange, which were previously calculated by a quasiclassical met
hod by Billing. The population distribution function for vibrational l
evels of CO molecules has been calculated in terms of this model. The
calculation results obtained without using any fitting parameters agre
e satisfactorily with experimental data.
