Rl. Arya et Jp. Sharma, EFFECT OF IRRIGATION AND ANTI-TRANSPIRANT AND GROWTH-REGULATORS ON SUMMER GREENGRAM (PHASEOLUS-RADIATUS), Indian Journal of Agronomy, 39(1), 1994, pp. 31-33
A field experiment was carried out during summer season (April-June) o
f 1987-1988 at New Delhi, to study the effect of depth of irrigation w
ater : cumulative pan-evaporation (IW : CPE) ratios of 0.2, 0.4 and 0.
6 and 5 treatments of anti-transpirants and growth-regulators [control
, kaolin (6% emulsion), PMA 10(4), seed treatment and foliar spray of
Agrostemin (100 g/ha)] on summer greengram (Phaseolus radiatus L.). Ir
rigation at 0.4 and 0.6 IW : CPE ratios were at par and gave significa
ntly higher yield attributes, grain and straw yields compared with tho
se at IW : CPE ratio of 0.2. Seed treatment and foliar spray of Agrost
emin were at par and significantly increased the yield attributes, gra
in and straw yields than that of kaolin and PMA, which were also at pa
r and significantly superior to that of the control in affecting the y
ield attributes, grain and straw yields of summer greengram in both th
e years of trial.
