For a general Lagrangian developed for N connected flexible and deploy
able members, the constants of motion have been determined based on No
ether's principle. The infinitesimal transformations in time and space
are considered to develop the invariant expressions. Existence of con
served quantities for these transformations imposes certain restrictio
ns on the parameters occurring in the general Lagrangian.
