G. Giuseppetti et al., 1 1-MOLECULAR-COMPLEX OF TRIMETHOPRIM AND SULFAMETROLE/, Acta crystallographica. Section C, Crystal structure communications, 50, 1994, pp. 1289-1291
In the complex between trimethoprim, 5-[(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl) methy
l]-2,4-pyrimidinediamine, TMP, and sulfametrole, -methoxy-1,2,5-thiadi
azol-3-yl)benzenesulfonamide, SMTR, C14H19N4O(3)(+).C9H9N4O3S(2)(-), t
he proton participating in the hydrogen bond between the pyrimidine an
d sulfonamide N atoms [2.808 (3)Angstrom] is transferred from SMTR to
TMP (NH+...N-). An N-H...O hydrogen bond [2.933 (4)Angstrom] is also e
stablished between the 2-aminopyrimidine group of TMP and an O atom of
the sulfonamido group of SMTR. The bimolecular complex units are link
ed in the crystal through N-H...O hydrogen bonds [3.057 (3)Angstrom] b
etween p-aminophenyl and sulfonamido groups.
