Abstract
In the galactonic acid part of the title compound, C27H32O14, two C-O bonds are aligned 1,3-parallel with an O...O distance of 2.884(2) Angs trom. The absolute structure, determined crystallographically, corresp onds to the known chirality of the title compound.
