Abstract
The stereochemistry of the product of the photoaddition of pentafluoro benzaldehyde to 4-tert-butyl-1-acetoxycyclohexene, tert-butyl-8-pentaf luorophenyl-7-oxabicyclo[4.2.0] oct-1-yl acetate, C19H21F5O3, has been established. The ring fusion is cis, and the aryl and acetoxy substit utents are trans to the tertiary butyl group.
