Calculations are performed for the equilibrium composition of air plas
ma with products of ablation of aluminum (with due regard for the form
ation of condensed Al2O3) in the region of the rear stagnation point b
ehind a body for conditions of ballistic experiments (2000 < T < 4600
K, 60 < p < 600 mm Hg, 10(-4) < chi(Al) < 0.12, where Tis the temperat
ure, p is the pressure, and chi(Al) is the overall aluminum fraction).
The obtained results are regarded as input data for further investiga
tion of complex nonequilibrium processes occurring in the far wake and
appear to be of interest per se from the standpoint of the physics of
low-temperature plasma seeded with aluminum.
