Abstract
The results of calculation of the heat flux from a spherical particle are presented, The kinetic Boltzmann equation, which describes the sta te of a gas surrounding the particle, is solved by the Lees method. A more exact approximation for the distribution function than in the sta ndard procedure of the Lees method is applied This distribution functi on describes the transition to the Chapman-Enskog distribution and giv es the value of the temperature jump for a large particle, which is cl ose to the correct value.
