Abstract
An overview of ozone fading behavior on polyamide carpets is given. Bl ue anthraquinone dyes are known to be sensitive to ozone. Dyed carpet showing good colorfastness to light does not necessarily have good col orfastness to ozone. Ozone-resistant anthraquinone dyes have good colo rfastness to shampooing. Proper selection of fibers, dyes, chemicals a nd application processes used is necessary for good colorfastness to o zone. The use of some specific reactive dyes has been shown to signifi cantly improve resistance to ozone fading.
