Abstract
Upper bounds for the inner product of two vectors are given in terms o
f the components of the vectors. The resulting inequalities are sharpe
r than Cauchy's inequality, i.e., generally better and never worse. Th
e various upper bounds are ordered in a sequence of increasing sharpne
