J. Szargut et K. Kurpisz, TEMPERATURE DECREASE AND EXERGY LOSS DUE TO DISSOCIATION OF COMBUSTION GASES, Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Chemistry, 42(1), 1994, pp. 101-109
There have been carried out calculations of the equilibrium compositio
n of combustion gases obtained from adiabatic combustion of gaseous fu
els at various temperature levels of preheated air. The following comp
onents of combustion gases have been taken into account: CO2, CO, H2O,
H-2 O-2, N-2, OH, O, H, NO. The approximate formula expressing the te
mperature decrease due to dissociation as a function of the calorimetr
ic combustion temperature, C/H-2, O-2/(C + 0.5H(2)), and N-2/O-2 ratio
s in combustion gases has been worked out. The relative loss of exergy
due to thermal dissociation has been calculated, as well. A method fo
r the calculations of total enthalpy of combustion gases has been prop
osed.
