The main publications devoted to the influence of laser radiation on t
he anodic dissolution and cathodic deposition of metals are reviewed,
including: the effect of laser radiation on the metal equilibrium pote
ntial, on the rate of the reactions, which proceed under charge-transf
er control, on the mass transfer in the diffusion boundary layer, on t
he current efficiency, on changes in the degree of metal passivity, et
c. A separate section is devoted to the problem of improving the local
ization of laser electrochemical machining.
