Abstract
A one day conference on this topic was organised jointly by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), the National Health Service (NHS) Trainin g Directorate and the Institute for Health Services Management in Sept ember 1993. The aim of the meeting was to make clinicians, senior nurs es, clinical directors, managers and directors of public health aware of the importance of collection, communication and use of high quality information within the health services.
