AUTOMATION AND CENTRALIZATION OF MAINTENANCE PROCESSES IN ST-PETERSBURG METROPOLITAN TRANSMISSION NETWORK

This paper describes the development and application of the automated maintenance system for transmission systems (AMS TS) in the St. Peters burg telephone network. The functional model and architecture of the A MS TS are consistent with the ITU recommendations for transmission sys tems including optical fiber transmission systems. This paper presents examples of facilities for different hierarchical levels of AMS TS. T his paper also contains statistical data regarding tests of the system . The future development of the system and its integration with other maintenance systems within the telecommunication management network (T MN) is described.
