Abstract
An incoherent optical code division multiple access (CDMA) concept usi ng a combination of wavelength hopping and time spreading is introduce d employing prime-hop sequences, which feature an autocorrelation func tion with zero sidelobes and crosscorrelation function of at most 1. C onsequently, the number of stations in the network and the number of s imultaneous users that can be supported is greatly increased. The syst em is suitable for truly asynchronous highly secure LAN applications.
