Abstract
The authors give experimental evidence for a new type of modelocking m echanism in Er-doped fibre lasers, based on polarisation evolution in an intracavity MQW waveguide. Experiments indicate that anisotropic pr operties of MQW waveguides can continuously start the modelocking proc ess.
