Abstract
The paper shows the possibility to obtain defect free Electron Beam (E B) welded joints of the 2219-T6 Al base alloy of aerospace interest. S uitable post-weld EB heat treatments enable to eliminate the surface u ndercutting and to improve the tensile properties of the welded joint.
