Abstract
The female fructification belonging to the new genus Schmeissneria, Sc hmeissneria mia ostnchys (Presl, 1833) Kirchner et Van Konijnenburg-Va n Cittert, comb. nov., has been found attached to short shoots bearing leaves that were formerly called Glossophyllum? sp. A. Weber, 1968 an d that are consequently now also called Schmeissneria microstachys. Th e male fructification Stachyopitys preslii Schenk, 1867 belongs in all probability to the same plant. Furthermore, the female fructification Karkenia hauptmannii, Kirchner et Van Konijnenburg-Van Cittert, sp. n ov. has been found attached to short shoots carrying leaves that have been called Sphenobaiera a spectabilis (Nathorst) Florin but are now r emoved from this species and are consequently also called Karkenia hau ptmannii.
