Ab. Gapeev et al., RESONANCE EFFECTS OF LOW-INTENSITY MODULA TED EHF FIELD - ALTERATION IN THE MOTOR-ACTIVITY OF PROTOZOA PARAMECIUM-CAUDATUM, Biofizika, 39(1), 1994, pp. 74-82
The present work is concerned with the resonance influence of low-inte
nsity pulse modulated millimeter waves on the motor activity of protoz
oa Paramecium caudatum. A narrow-band dependence of the biological eff
ect on the modulation frequency of EHF field and EHF carrier frequency
has been revealed. The resonance phenomenon al a modulaton frequency
of 0,0956 Hz has been observed at EHF radiation frequencies from 42,1
to 42,4 GHz, which manifests itself as a decrease of the motor activit
y of P.caudatum. The obtained evidence allows a conclusion that the ef
fect of modulated millimeter waves in our experiments is determined by
the increase in the intracellular calcium concentration.
