Abstract
Analysis of natural ganglioside lactones usually involves their treatm ent with ammonia. In the present work it is shown that the treatment o f ganglioside GD3 dilactone with ammonia produces not one, but three a mides, namely, GD3 diamide and two monoamides. Their structures are di scussed.
