Abstract
The modifications that must be introduced within the framework of stan dard, classical N-body statistical mechanics techniques, in order to d eal with the recently proposed generalized scenario of non-extensive s tatistical mechanics are discussed. A generalized version of the equip artition theorem is shown to hold. The ideal gas is revisited as a sim ple application.
