Abstract
We report variations of between 10.7 and 15.8 angstrom in the periodic ity of oscillatory interlayer exchange coupling of (111)-oriented Cu1- xGex-Co and Cu1-xNi1-x-Co multilayers which depend on the germanium an d nickel concentrations. These results agree with theoretical predicti ons that relate the exchange coupling periodicity to the diameter of t he neck of the Fermi surface of Cu-Ge or Cu-Ni alloys.
