Abstract
The spatial distribution of the blue luminescence associated with the 240nn, absorption band, measured in Ge-doped optical fibre preforms us ing a wide range of 266nm excitation power, is presented. The distribu tion was found to change during the UV exposure, implying a dependence of the absorption band bleaching on the Ge concentration.
