Ra. Brickman et Rf. Boehm, MAXIMIZING 3-PHASE DIRECT-CONTACT HEAT-EXCHANGER OUTPUT, Numerical heat transfer. Part A, Applications, 26(3), 1994, pp. 287-299
Findings that maximize output performance of three-phase spray columns
show that dramatic increases in total heat transfer can be achieved.
Results from simulations are presented that show whew the dispersed fl
uid B introduced into the exchanger at or near its saturation temperat
ure, increases of approximately a half order of magnitude are possible
. In some cases, reversals in previously reported trends are found whe
n direct-contact heat exchanger operating limits are expanded, sheddin
g new light on possible optimization of direct contact heat exchanger
design and output.
