On the basis of dimerization kinetics and experimental data on thermal
explosion we determine conditions for ignition of tetrafluoroethylene
on a hot wall. A mathematical model of nonisothermal polymerization o
n a plane wall and in a cavity which takes into account heat removal t
o the wall and to the gas phase is proposed. The conditions for explos
ion hazard situations are established and expressions for the inductio
n time are obtained.
