Dz. Pan et al., INCOMPRESSIBLE-FLOW SOLUTION ON UNSTRUCTURED TRIANGULAR MESHES, Numerical heat transfer. Part B, Fundamentals, 26(2), 1994, pp. 207-224
An incompressible Navier-Stokes solver on unstructured triangular mesh
is developed and tested. The artificial compressibility method is emp
loyed to render the system hyperbolic. The temperature equation and th
e source terms representing thermal buoyancy forces are included in th
e system via Boussinesq approximation. A Godunov-type second-order upw
ind finite-volume method is used to obtain inviscid fluxes. The viscou
s terms are computed by a finite-volume formulation which can be secon
d-order accurate for a large class of triangular cells. To maintain nu
merical stability and efficiency, an implicit approximate LU factoriza
tion (ALU) scheme is used for time integration, Time accuracy is assur
ed by subiterations at each time step. Various forced-convection and n
atural-convection problems ore completed to validate the proposed sche
me.
